Not only was there plenty of talent at the 14U level of the Generation Next Tip-Off but great depth as well. Here is the next group of players who players at the 14U level who had big weekends on the floor.

Chris Chiles – 2028 – F – LVL Gold

Chiles was one the more impactful forward with everything he did on the court. He is a tough and aggressive interior defender blocking and altering shots as well as active on the glass but on the offensive end, showed a versatile game. He scored it well around the basket, can put the ball on the floor, and hit shots in the mid-range.

Jayden Dozie – 2028 – PG – Illinois Central Elite

Dozie is a real playmaking point guard who was a big reason why Illinois Central Elite was able to get all the way to the championship game. He plays quick with the ball to score it extremely well getting to the basket in both the half court and transition game. With his quickness and handle, Dozie proved to be very difficult to stick with getting wherever he wants with the ball to continue to create.

Noah Heller – 2028 – G/F – Man Up

One of a few players from this Man Up team who impressed during the tournament. Heller has a good combination of some size on the wings to go along with a versatile skill set. He can handle the ball and make plays off the dribble in addition to making plenty of good passes. Heller also showed a good ability on the defensive end with his ability to defend both the paint and perimeter effectively. He played a big role in a victory on Saturday.

Lavonte Johnson – 2028 – SF – Mad City Mambas

Already at a young age, there are a lot of different things to like from the game of Johnson. He has good physical tools with his height and length but also some good skills as well. Johnson is a true standout on the defensive side of the ball with his ability match up with anyone on the floor utilizing his length and quickness to shut down both guards and forwards alike. Offensively, he was effective scoring on the attack with some good moves with the ball. A name to track in the 2028 class.

John Morgan – 2028 – F/C – Woodstock Elite

Morgan is a strong big man with good size too standing at 6’3”. He is very powerful playing around the paint but also showed skills as well. Morgan was very effective scoring it all around the paint with the ability to do it while posting up too. The big man was also one of the better rebounders at the 14U level going aggressive after every rebound.

Giovanni Sanderlin – 2028 – G – M14

There was a lot to like from the play of Sanderlin in the one game I watched of his showing plenty of upside. He has some positional size in the backcourt with a wide range of abilities. Sanderlin has a smooth jumper from the outside with plenty of range. He was also very effective playing on the attack finishing around the paint and distributing the ball out nicely.

Adam Strasburger – 2028 – G – Team Iowa

A real high energy guard that is very effective on both sides of the floor. Strasburger is a versatile scorer that was getting it done from all over the floor. He plays well on the attack but also hit shots spotting up from three and pulling up in the mid-range. The guard really works on the defensive end to shut down opposing guards.

Jared Van Donselaar – 2028 – F/C – Kessel Heat

There is a lot to like from the game of Van Donselaar who has continued to impress over the past year. As well to already having good size at 6’4” with plenty length, the young post moves well and has continued to build to his skill set. He really stood out with his jump shot hitting threes at a high percentage. Though much more than a shooter, Van Donselaar made an impact in a variety of ways and scored it very effectively around the paint too.
