The Generation Next Tip-Off is always a great look at some of the top younger players from across the region. Saturday got off to a big start with plenty of players impressing. Here are several of the day’s top standouts. Plenty of content to follow in the coming days following championship Sunday.
Will Foley – 2028 – PG – Kessel Heat
In multiple games today, Foley greatly impressed to start off the tournament leading his team to some wins. A real playmaker who can score and distribute the ball both very effectively. One of the better point guards of the day with his great array of tools. He came up big in their last game of the day hitting the game winning free throws in the final second of the game to send Kessel Heat away with another win.
Kinston Knueppel – 2028 – SF – WI Lutheran
While still in middle school, Knueppel already has a very nice blend of size, length, and skill set. All game he showed off an incredibly high skill level plus a versatile game being able to do so much leading his team to a trio of victories. While he scored the ball effectively all day long on the attack and hitting jumpers, he did so much more on the floor too with his defense, rebounding, and energy plays.
Tomarri Patterson – 2029 – F – Motion Elite
In multiple games, Patterson impressed with everything he can do. He already has good size and strength but is also a versatile forward doing a little bit of everything throughout the day. He is a highly active player that was always contributing. Whether playing on the attack or getting it done inside, he was a tough and effective scorer.
Brady Uelmen – 2029 – G – WI Reps
Uelmen looked to be one of the more skilled players of the entire tournament today. In a single half, he went for 15 points alone and 22 points total for the game. Even at a young age he is incredibly skilled with the ball in his hands and sees the floor so well. From all three levels, but especially on the attack, Uelmen was incredibly effective scoring the ball at a high rate.
Denym Wallace – 2029 – F – NS Ballerz
While Wallace first stands out for his height, as a 6’3” seventh grader, there is much more to like about his game. He is a skilled and versatile big man that impacted the game in numerous ways today. Whether it was with his versatile scoring, tough rebounding, or energetic defensive play inside and out, Wallace came up big today for his team.
