This past weekend was session two of the NY2LA Basketball Association at the Grassroots Showcase. Here are several from the 15U level that are making a name for themselves.
Ty Austin – 2026 – G – Nati Elite
Austin is a tough guard who plays with plenty of energy. On Saturday, Austin had himself a 19-point game. He knocked down three threes with a smooth jumper but also plays strong attacking the basket overpowering opposing guards all the way to the basket.
Hayden Flavin – 2026 – PF – Reach Legends
Flavin can be a force on the court standing at 6’7” with his solid frame. A tough interior scorer who moves well around the paint positioning himself to catch and finish all around the paint. An aggressive forward who was often scoring and rebounding the ball going right through opponents.
Levi Harris – 2026 – G – MN Comets Elite
Harris is a skilled guard who knows how to play. A very skilled and efficient scorer who had a couple of big games on Sunday. Whether it was hitting mid-range pull up jumpers, floaters, threes, Harris was scoring the ball at a high level in nearly every way.
Xavier McGlon – 2026 – PG – Griffin Elite
The freshman is an electric playmaker that had a couple of impressive games for himself in Louisville. As well to his quickness, has very good moves off the dribble attacking, maneuvering around defenders getting to his spots. On the attack he has a good package finishing well in traffic in paint, running jumpers, and pull up jumpers but also passes it well on the moves.
Dion Morgan – 2026 – PG – D Rice Elite
Morgan is a highly impactful point guard that can do so much on both ends of the floor. A high IQ player who plays strong with the ball in his hands. Morgan continuously showed a good ability to create for his teammates but also scored it effectively himself with his jumper from the mid-range and three. A highly active defender with quick hands who can really pressure the basketball.
Samuel Stalzer – 2026 – PG – Shining Stars
There are a few different aspects to really like about Stalzer’s game with his ability to both score the ball and run the point effectively. He plays smart with the ball in his hands and is quick getting into the paint creating. A skilled distributor who sees the floor well on the attack with good decision-making ability. Much more than only a facilitator, Stalzer scored it strongly around the paint and is a more than capable outside shooter.
Uthman Sherif – 2026 – PF – Midwest Basketball Club
Sherif had multiple big games includes a 24-point performance on Saturday. The freshman is a powerful 6’4” forward with a strong build. An energetic big man who battles for position on the offensive side as well to monitoring the paint actively deterring drivers and contesting everything inside. He uses his size very effectively to carve out his space inside and finish right through defenders to score on a high percentage of his post touches.
JJ Walters – 2026 – SF – Chapman Basketball
It was another standout tournament for Walters as he continues to show he is one of the more skilled 2026 forwards on the NY2LA Association. A mismatch who plays well out on the perimeter but also has some size to play down in the paint. A versatile scorer who impressed the most with his smart playmaking off the dribble and attacking the basket.
Joel Wyatt – 2026 – SF – Team Mookie
The 6’5” wing forward continues to have an impressive spring showing more and more ability on the floor. He has all the tools to be an elite defender with his length, quickness, athleticism, and energy. Offensively, with his long strides he scored the ball effectively attacking the basket but is also a versatile scorer.
