The Spring Extravaganza showcased plenty of talent with many high-level games over the course of the weekend. With many standouts, here is part one of the top performers.
Moses Blackwell – 2025 – PG – Reach Legends
Even while playing up a level, Blackwell had one of the best games of the tournament. The electric point guard had a 30-point, 6-assist game which included 22 points in the first half alone while hitting six threes. He is just incredibly quick and shifty with the ball and can quickly get off his shot with deep range but also uses those tools to get plenty of paint touches.
Dekwon Brown – 2024 – PG – DB Pros
It was another big weekend Brown as he is proving he is one of the top point guards on the NY2LA Association. All tournament he showcased his great playmaking ability as he can score and facilitate both at a very high level. On the attack, he is just so difficult to stop with not only his skills with the ball but also is IQ and decision making reading the floor. Following the tournament, he picked up an offer from Radford.
Malachi Cosby – 2024 – SG – Team Loaded 804
As well to his 25-point game on Sunday, Cosby impressed throughout the tournament. In addition to his scoring, with his high energy, strength, and toughness he was doing a bit of everything; defending multiple positions, rebounding at a high rate, energy plays.
Cale Cosme – 2024 – PG – ET21 Buckeyes
While one of the smaller players at the 17U level of the tournament, Cosme was also one of the top playmakers. With his handle, quickness, and shifty changing directions, Cosme was getting wherever he wanted on the floor to create for himself and teammates. He scored it well all weekend hitting threes and finishing in traffic as well to racking up the assists. His stellar weekend included an 18-point, 8-assist game on Sunday.
Nolan Demski – 2024 – SG – Milwaukee Trail Blazers
The junior is a skilled guard with positional size at 6’4” and good strength in the backcourt. He was a big reason why his team went undefeated over the tournament. He did much of his damage with his smooth compact jumper from three and pulling up in the mid-range but is also tough attacking the basket playing through contact. An under the radar player who could see his stock soar in the coming months.
Ty Fernholz – 2024 – G – Wisconsin Blizzard
The consistent shooting of Fernholz is just remarkable. He did it all last season on the NY2LA Association on his way to MVP honors, then again during his junior season shooting 45.1% from three and is back at it this spring. To start off the tournament on Friday he went 6-9 from beyond the arc. Even as one of the best shooters in the Midwest, Fernholz is much more than just a shooter as he has a high overall skill level with good feel.
Davee Flowers – 2024 – G – Illinois Central Elite
One of the top scorers of the tournament going for games of 32 and 25 points helping his team to an undefeated weekend. There is much to like about his offensive skill set as he shoots it well from the outside, is strong with the ball in his hands playing on the attack and is a skilled passer. Flowers continues to boost his stock up.
Sebastian Hill – 2024 – SG – Illinois Predators
The guard started off the tournament with a 22-point winning effort and continued the scoring from there. He continued the high level of scoring with a 21-point game Saturday and then finished the tournament with a 27-point game to be one of the top scorers of the tournament. He is a marksman from the outside hitting threes at a high percentage all weekend but can also handle the ball getting into the paint and passes it well.
Jaelyn Johnson – 2024 – F – 94 Feet Elite
One of a few players from 94 Feet Elite that impressed this weekend, including having a 23-point game to start off the tournament. Johnson has good size at 6’8” to go along with his skills. There are few players around the have his physical tools with his height and strength to go along with his jumper, scoring inside, and handling the basketball.
