Swish N Dish continues to be the top opening weekend event in the midwest and the 2023 addition featured a deep and talented group of prospects.
2026 5’11 Lamont Hamilton - Power 5 15U 3SSB
Lamont Hamilton was my favorite player to watch over the weekend at NY2LA Swish N Dish. In a talented 15U field Hamilton’s competitive spirit, passion, and motor stood out above the rest and he was a key reason why Power 5 won the Platinum Championship. The young floor general lived in the paint all weekend, using a quick first step to blow past defenders and has impressive strength to finish through contact at the rim. He made some nice drop off passes to teammates for easy buckets and was a blur in transition. Hamilton’s speed and strength separate him from his peers, but it was his toughness that really stood out. Fighting through cramps, Hamilton scored 20 points after halftime in the championship game to will his team to victory, and picked up full court defensively throughout the event, showing his quick feet and good instincts to disrupt opposing ball handlers. Hamilton has all the intangibles you want to see in a young Point Guard and an advanced skill set at his age. Without question a top 3 player in Wisconsin’s 2026 class, Hamilton looks like the next high major talent out of Racine.
2024 6’6 Calvin Robins Jr - Mac Irvin 17U EYCL
Calvin Robins is an explosive 2024 forward who showed great instincts defensively for Mac Irvin Fire on their way to the 17U Platinum championship. Robins is built like an NFL tight end and used his strength and leaping ability to block shots, finish some big time highlight reel dunks, and impact the game on the glass. He has a lightning quick second jump at his size and plays with a high motor - relentless is the best word to describe his game. Although he spent a lot of time around the basket, Robins also showed ability to rip and attack the rim from the perimeter, has improved as a jump shooter and made some clutch free throws down the stretch of the championship game on Sunday. Robins is not the flashiest or most skilled player, but his defensive impact, motor and physical tools make him a very intriguing prospect who will win a lot of games at the next level.
2025 6’7 Xzavion Mitchell - Team Herro 16U EYBL
Xzavion Mitchell had the most consistent and impressive weekend from start to finish of any prospect in the 16U division and powered Team Herro to the 16U Platinum championship. We have seen a lot of Mitchell over the past couple years and he has clearly gotten stronger and more explosive over the last 6 months. His best game of the weekend came in the championship game matchup with talented forward Mike Jones and Mac Irvin Fire 16U. Mitchell finished with 29 points and 10+ rebounds in the win. He has good hands, can finish with either hand around the basket and does a great job of creating angles and leverage to score through contact. Mitchell’s motor was running high all weekend and he defended and rebounded at a high level.
2024 6’2 Jack Stanton - Breakaway 17U UA Rise
Jack Stanton had maybe the best single game performance of the weekend scoring 29 points and making 7 threes in a big win over Phenom U, and helped lead his Breakaway team to a Runner-Up finish in the 17U platinum bracket. Stanton is an elite shooter who plays with an abundance of confidence. He can knock down shots off the dribble with good elevation in the midrange and is almost automatic in catch and shoot. As a Point Guard he can handle the ball, gets his team into their sets and is a vocal leader on the court. He checks a lot of boxes and does all the little things that may go unnoticed throughout the game - consistently a great teammate, Stanton held his group accountable on the floor while also staying positive, huddled his team during timeouts/free throws and was locked in with his coaching staff all weekend. Stanton’s IQ, shooting ability and conditioning level are impressive and he should be a hot name for D1s this Spring.
2025 6’6 Davion Hannah - Power 5 16U 3SSB
Davion Hannah showed why he is the top ranked 2025 prospect in Wisconsin over the weekend at Swish N Dish. At 6’6, Hannah is a long and athletic wing with a continuously improving perimeter skillset. Hannah spent time as the primary ball handler for Power 5, got to the basket off the bounce where he showed his explosion to finish above the rim, and made jumpers off the dribble. Hannah is at his best playing downhill and uses his long strides to cover ground and create angles on his drives. Defensively he has good timing as a help side shot blocker and used his length to get into passing lanes. Hannah is a top 50 prospect nationally and should add to his offer list on the adidas circuit this spring.
