The list of standout players from the 14U level at the Generation Next Tip-Off keeps on coming with the long list of talent amongst the group. Here are six more players with plenty of talent that had themselves strong weekends.
D’Anthony Brown – 2027 – PF – Wisconsin Lutheran
A long and rangy forward with tons of upside who is already an impactful player. He covers so much ground on the defensive end plus can defend all over the floor with his size and mobility. Not only did he block plenty of shots inside but also did on the perimeter as he moves so well for his size at his age. His biggest contribution may have been on the defensive side, but Brown also scored the ball very strong inside through contact.
Damir Ellis – 2027 – G – Wisconsin Playground Elite
A methodical guard that was always looking to get into the defense make plays. He has a good all-around game with a nice ability to hit shots, handle, and pass well. Ellis was getting into the paint often as he was always reading the floor looking for gaps to attack and battling his way inside but can also hit shots off the dribble from the outside. Ellis played with good energy throughout the tournament often greatly outworking the opposition to help his team win games.
Manny Miller – 2027 – PG – M14 Hoops Black
Over the course of multiple games, the point guard impressed with his abilities with the ball in his hands. With his handle and very shifty moves, Miller is so difficult to stick with and was able to get wherever he wanted with the ball, often getting into the paint, and creating for his teammates. Miller also scored the ball effectively on the attack with a nice ability to finish all around the paint.
Hayden Schroeder – 2027 – F – M14 Hoops Gold
With his versatile skill set, Schroeder was one of the more impactful forwards of the entire tournament. Along with his skill set he has good size and length to do so much on the floor. The forward scored the ball strong around the paint but also showed the ability to step out and hit the three. Also, a smart defender that can match up with multiple positions effectively.
Justin Speed – 2027 – G/F – BEAST Athletics
Speed is a skilled attacking wing that was often getting to the basket and finishing. He has some athleticism and moves well with the ball maneuvering right around defenders to get all the way to the bucket and finish everything. Speed is also a tough defender on the perimeter and can knock down the three.
Tre Turner – 2027 – G – Reagan Jr. Huskies
Turner was one of the better shooters of the entire tournament. Not only is he a knockdown shooter that hit threes well throughout the tournament he can also get into the mid-range and hit shots off the dribble. He was a big piece of his team’s success during the tournament making it into the semifinals as a part of a strong field of teams at the 14U level.
