Over the course of the three days at the Grassroots Showcase there were plenty of players from the 15U level that had tremendous performances. There was a long list of talented players that flashed great upside and could be big names on the recruiting trail down the line. Here are some of the ones who stood out from the rest.
Jamal Brown – 2025 – F – Team Wall
While only a freshman Brown was a popular name over the weekend. He is 6’4” with good strength as well as some quickness to be a standout forward on both ends of the floor. A truly versatile defender that could match up with anyone on the floor with all his traits. He was just as good offensively doing the bulk of his scoring by hitting threes off dribble and taking it strong to the basket. He’s just one of the guys that will do anything on the floor to win his teams games.
Will Garlock – 2025 – F/C – Wisconsin Swing
While many posts in this age group are still developing their game, Garlock is already a real force. After a breakout performance in Indianapolis, Garlock followed that up with another big weekend. Whether it be posting up, on dump offs, put backs, the freshman could not be stopped. Not just a factor inside but he continues to show a developing all-around game putting the ball on the floor and hitting jumpers.
Zeke Kirby – 2025 – PG – Indy EBC
Over the course of multiple games Kirby truly stood out to cement his spot on this list. A skilled scorer who had a 30-point game as well to a few other standout games. While he played well on both ends of the floor his offensive play earned his way here. One of the tougher players to defend off the dribble with his quickness and moves plus seeing the floor to often get to the basket but Kirby also shot it well from the outside. A big reason why Indy EBC went 4-0 on the weekend.
Christopher Maxon – 2025 – PG – Florida Pro
One of the purer point guards at the Grassroots Showcase. He has all the tools desired in a true floor general; high IQ, great handle and moves, skilled passer that sees the floor, plus he can also score it himself. A vocal leader on the court already with a nice skill set and playmaking ability.
Isaiah Mellock – 2025 – SG – MTXE Premier
The freshman is a talented guard that contributes in a great way with all of his abilities. At the Spring Extravaganza he showed a great versatile scoring ability which was still on display this weekend, but also distributed the basketball well. He is incredibly tough to defend off the dribble with his quickness often getting to the basket in addition to pulling up in the mid-range or finding open teammates.
Jaymen Townsend – 2025 – SF – George Hill All Indy
A versatile forward with great ability on the floor who has continued to have a great spring. Townsend can play big inside scoring the ball around the paint but also was spots up well on the perimeter. He has a nice blend of size, strength, athleticism, and wide array of skills.
Luke Westerdale – 2025 – SG – The Academy
One of the most skilled players at the 15U that was simply tremendous all weekend long. The electric scorer is a knockdown shooter from the outside off the catch and dribble with deep range but was also able to get to the basket. Westerdale is a smart and crafty guard with an advanced skill set and was a big reason to why his team went undefeated over the weekend.
Lemetrius Williams – 2025 – SG – 94 Feet Elite
Williams is an athletic and versatile 6’4” wing guard who is already a standout on both ends but has even greater upside. A skilled attacking guard that was getting into the paint so often. He has a good combination of moves and strength to be very difficult to stop off the dribble. Over the weekend Williams played tough defense with all his tools and can match up well with both guards and wings.
Matthew Zobrist – 2025 – SG – Mid Pro Academy
The hot hand continues to rotate for this talented 2025 Mid Pro squad as Zobrist fully impressed this tournament. While the 6’3” guard has a nice all-around game, he excelled with his shooting ability. A marksman that was getting it done from the outside even with defenders all over him. Not just off the catch but he also moves well with the ball and hits them off the dribble from the mid-range and three.
