The 2023 class at the NY2LA Futures Camp showcased a talented and long list of college prospects. Throughout the three games and drills there were plenty of players who truly shined. Though here is the first part of the group that stood out the most on the day.
Carson Cuddy – 2023 – Mt. Zion HS – SF
The lengthy 6’8” wing forward was one of the more impressive players at the camp. He was very active throughout the camp making plays all over the court. He did a bit of everything but impressed the most with his tough defense, crashing the glass, and versatile scoring. Cuddy was able to score 13.3 points per game while shooting and efficient 66.7% from the field getting it done every way during the camp.
Chris Djurasovic – 2023 – Homestead HS - PF
Not only does he stand at 6’7” with good length and mobility but also has a good skill set. During the camp Djurasovic showed off his versatile scoring ability getting it done posting up, off the dribble, and hitting some jumpers. With all his tools he was able to score 10.3 points per game while shooting over sixty percent from the field. The forward plays with good energy and knows how to play.
Ahdrean Ellis – 2023 – Leo HS – SG
Ellis was one of the most impactful players during the camp at all levels. Not only does the junior have some size in the backcourt at 6’4” but also good strength. He played with very good energy at all times and did a bit of everything on the floor. Ellis stood out the most with his scoring averaging 14.3 point per game as well to averaging 6.7 rebounds plus being one of the top versatile defenders.
Gavin Farrell – 2023 – Verona Area HS – SG
After a strong season on the NY2LA Association, Farrell continued that up at the Futures Camp. He truly scored the ball well from all three levels. He continues to get better playing off the dribble in addition to his great shot making ability. Farrell was able to get to the basket often plus sees the floor on the move. Not only was the two-guard one of the better scorers of the camp averaging 13.6 points per game, but also incredibly efficient. He shot it at a remarkable 81.8% from the field as well as 83.3% from three.
Solomon Garrison II – 2023 – Homestead HS - G
Garrison is an incredibly quick point guard that plays very well with the ball in his hands. He moves extremely well with the ball and was constantly getting into the paint. He is a skilled passer that sees the floor very well on the move to rack up 18 assists during the camp. Garrison is a heady floor general that knows how to play and create for his teammates.
Landon Key – 2023 – Wisconsin Lutheran HS - G
One of the more impactful guards of the camp that not only scored and distributed the ball well but also hit the glass and played tough perimeter defense. He is a smart guard with some size that excelled attacking the basket but also knocked down several threes. Key has good feel, always knowing where to go with the ball, and is tough to stick with off the dribble.
Alex Lagerman – 2022 – Dominican HS – SF
One of the top scorers of the entire camp putting up over twenty points per game. He is a long and athletic wing with good feel and a well-rounded skill set at 6’8”. Lagerman has a good jumper spotting up from the perimeter but scored it well attacking the basket too. He moves well with the ball at his size and has good handle to be tough to defend off the dribble.
