MEQUON, Wis. – The 1st and only “LIVE PERIOD” of the spring kicked off in Mequon, WI as the members of the 2019 NY2LABasketball Association hit the court in front of college coaches.  With the shortened recruiting calendar it was time for players to try and leave their mark and there were a few standouts from opening night.

Kip Clark Jr – 2020 – F - Motor City Grizzlies
Clark is a 6-7 Forward from Detroit who showed toughness on the block in the nightcap Friday.  His effort in the post was obvious as he rebounded and competed at a high level.  Clark’s motor was on display in a loss to Chicago Lockdown on opening night.  The Grizzlies will need that type of showing as they go through the Association.

Alex Huibregtse – 2020 -PG – Phenom University NY2LA
The 6-3 guard from Grafton, WI was a bright spot in a tough opening night loss for Phenom University.  Matched up against All Iowa Attack, Huibregste attacked off the bounce and played well in ball screen action.  He showed good decision making in transition and an extended range on his shot.  His effort on the defensive end was a big reason Phenom was able to fight back from a big 1st half hole. 

Tamin Lipsey – 2022 - PG –All Iowa Attack Red
Lipsey was very impressive running the show on Friday night.  It’s easy to see why the young guard from Ames has High Major offers already.  He’s strong and poised while playing with a great pace.   He was able to setup his team for open looks with his penetration and shows tremendous upside.

Cody McCullough –2020 – F – All Iowa Attack Red
 The lanky forward showed good instincts on the glass and ability to be a pick and pop 4 in Friday’s win.  Competing on the glass and running in transition it was easy to see the potential in McCullough as size and shooting at the 4 spot are always attractive. 

Logan Jedwabny – 2020 – G – WI Blizzard Kuranda
Jedwabny was one of the more impressive guards to open play in the NY2LA Association on Friday night.  The Kaukauna product was shifty on the bounce and finished at the rim and in transition.  Once he got the outside shot going the Blizzard was able to ride his 23 points to an impressive win to start the campaign.  Jedwabny was decisive with the ball in his hands and used his body well all night.
